A new Pikachu named Devon was ranting, but Helen the Shaymin was not listening. She was too busy laughing. Seriously, he electrocuted his game and console and expected them not to get fried? And people kept calling HER mad!

Though she wasn’t especially listening, she did hear him demanding a form that wouldn’t do that sort of thing, so she shrugged, grabbed a random potion bottle not associated with Electric-type, and poured it into his still-rambling mouth, an act he didn’t even seem to notice until suddenly his muzzle changed, becoming purple on top and cream-colored on the bottom, with large buck teeth in front. But surprise soon gave way to wonder. “Whoa... These teeth...”

The rest of his face began to change, the lower part’s fur turning cream-colored and the upper part’s fur turning purple. He felt the sides of his face, feeling a long whisker on each. “And menacing, pointy whiskers!” As his head was overtaken with purple fur, he reached up and felt the top of his head, discovering that his ears were now much wider rather and more rounded than tall and pointed. “And big ears to hear those who dare oppose me!”

He continued changing, his torso’s fur changing to purple with cream fur on his belly. His arms and legs turned purple, while his paws turned cream, having claws at the end of each digit, perfect for delivering mighty scratches!

He looked back, discovering that his tail was now purple and lacked the jagged shape from before, instead curling at the end. A tail like this could surely deliver powerful strikes, right? “Ooh, yes!” he cheered. “A great, powerful form! I’ll be able to beat everyone in the tournament with a body like this!”

Helen opened her mouth to point out the several counter-arguments she had, not the least of which being that the tournament didn’t involve real-life combat in any way, but before she could, Devon was already out the door.
