Octransfur Day 2: Ravencloth [Plush Raven TF] by Joat

It was October. It was the month of scares, of Halloween. Or at least, it was that to many, but Phira did not care for such things herself. She did not like to be scared and had a low tolerance for such things. Yet, she did not intend to sit things out entirely. No, she would still be celebrating Halloween, but in her own way. And she knew just the way to begin.

Symtec, meanwhile, was walking to the store. It was not necessary for him to walk, mind. As a dutch angel dragon, he could easily fly. However, sometimes it was nice to mix things up by walking instead. Phira, meanwhile, was flying nearby, currently made invisible by magic.

Phira's magic showed itself subtly at first. Symtec did not even notice the cloth tag that was now attached to his tail. Such a tag would normally hold laundering information, but this one instead had a blue heart shape with little demon horns on it.

The changes from there were more dramatic. His blue tail with green feathers at the end quickly changed into black tailfeathers. Or rather, more specifically, they changed to black cloth, filled with stuffing, shaped in such a way that they hinted at there being feathers, but without actually having individual feathers.

Growing a tag was easy to miss, but this was significantly less so. He looked back, seeing what had happened. He was no stranger to being transformed, but usually it had an obvious cause. This time, however, was different. Who or what was transforming him? He was clearly turning into a plush bird of some sort, but what?

He would not have to wait long for the answer, as the transformation was spreading rapidly. His torso was next, changing to smooth black stuffed cloth as well. He watched his arms change, lengthening and reshaping to big black plush wings.

He gave his new wings a test flap as his old wings shrunk and disappeared. He looked down, seeing his legs change next, becoming black cloth bird legs with black bird feet at the end, each with three talons in front and one in back.

By this point, he had a fair idea what he was becoming. His head began to change next, his horns and ears receding into his now-plush head as his muzzle reshaped itself into a black plush beak, confirming his suspicion. Indeed, he was now a big plush raven.

Sym looked himself over, feeling his soft cloth body with his wing, but after a few seconds he found his wings pinned to his side as he was being gently constricted by a mysterious, oddly soft force. But the force soon became visible, not as a vague magical energy but as a fellow plush raven wearing a familiar hat, revealing her to be none other than Phira.

Phira giggled, the two nuzzling each-other. Indeed, being plush ravens together was bound to be quite a lovely way to celebrate Halloween.

The prompt for day two was Toy. I generally favor pooltoy over plush, but plush felt more appropriate for this. Wait... plush... felt... dagnabbit, that was a pun.

This also doubles as a random gift for Phira and Symtec. How could I write a story with the prompt "Toy" and not include those two, after all?

When it comes to this and CrizBN's submission, it seems we were both in a similar mental space. We both had a plush whose base form isn't a plush TFing someone else into another plush, both by surprise, and we both had the idea of a cute little symbol on the tag. Mine was definitely more Halloween-ish, though. It doesn't appear that CrizBN is trying to include any Halloween stuff his Octransfur submissions (of course, the one on Halloween itself will no doubt be a different story). As for me, I will say that while not ALL of mine will be Halloween-themed, a fair amount will in some way.

Also, does anyone else find it ominous that, in order to submit a deviation, you must finish by clicking the "Submit Now" button? It's ominous enough that the site has a big green "SUBMIT" in the corner much of the time...
