There's a very long story behind this image.
It took four years from the spring I took the photos of the apple blossoms, to the last brush stroke. This painting was a journey in every sense of the word. I had to stop working on it when my old computer started to struggle with the file size. It was 13 layers and the old rig couldn't take it anymore. Eventually I thought I lost the PSD file. All I had were two small jpgs of the unfinished piece. Fast forward to today, and while looking through my portable hard drive for a music soundtrack, I stumbled into the file. And Corel Painter worked. So.... I finished it.
Be gentle. It's not perfect, but it's done.

The detail is probably what did in the old rig. The file was so large my old machine couldn't handle it anymore... But in retrospect, the file isn't THAT large. The computer was just too damn old. Details killed the computer. lol

You kidding? This is fantastic. I love how you divided the composition using the apple blossoms, how you captured the movement of the bee and the dragon like it was a freeze-frame macro shot, the bright and crisp colors, just every aspect to this pops. I'm enjoying just letting my eyes wander around the painting and looking at all the beautiful, tiny details.
