Mechanical pencil and rolling ball pen, 2014
And here we have one of my first attempts at drawing a hobgoblin, ever! I figure those ridges on his schnoz are indicative of mandrill-style coloration, giving him a bright red and blue nose amid otherwise earth-toned skin. The scale is a decorative armor collar worn over a slightly more fitted suit of leather and lamellar, the laced neck of which can be seen here. Didn’t give him a helmet since the entire point of this dude was to figure out a way I wanted to draw them!
The facial anatomy here is strongly influenced by snoozlebee's artwork, which I don't consider a bad thing.
Two-monster day! Hooah!
