"a good painting can make you think of a dozen stories," a smart person has probably said about art before. i agree with them. hypothetically
this one surely achieves that speculative goal. i can see this scene as one of surrender- maybe the deer is trapped in quarantine here after an accident, awaiting some horrible pathogenic fate. or maybe it's one of sorrow, the deer realizing they're too late to stop the outbreak outside and must watch helplessly as their friends suffer. or maybe the deer is just on their lunch break. those are 3 stories, and I could write 9 more to get to that dozen i mentioned before, but my fingers are tired. you get the idea.
