Inquiline: hi

Hexadoodle

Inquiline was my experimental alternate account. I was intrigued by art-account-as-art, people posting glitches and abstract work, or maybe being surreal in their comments, favorites, and interactions. I wanted to try something similar. While I dig some postmodern aesthetics, I don't like the messages (or lack thereof) commonly associated with them. I wanted to see if it was possible to still express something of value, clearly.

I intended Inquiline to be myself, specifically, the side of myself that expresses things Hexaditidom/Hexadoodle shies away from. I also wanted it to be secret, and I'm not sure why. I don't know why I post art at all when I'm this paranoid about artistic expression, even in probably-benign ways! In the end I decided it was too much work to maintain two identities on three or four websites. I don't think Inquiline was a failure, but I want to be one person.

I made Inquiline a character in my 2014 Nanowrimo novel, and this captures his personality well, someone who is "on a mission to expose people's shortcomings."
