Character Proposal: Heidae by Hajinn

Character Proposal: Heidae

Saul (Chase): Totes =s

Tahajin Grandville: Now, what I was going to say before I was so rudely interrupted by my computer being a derpface was that I did manage to snag some semblance of sleep and it’s been fairly decent so far. Homework’s squared away and I’m hosting a small LAN party in my dorm. My roommate proposed the idea and I consented, since I knew the participants. Still doesn’t mean I’m going to go without padlocks on valuables, though. Times are tough and fingers are sticky.

That aside, I’ve been sowing the seeds of a new character to expand my little entourage. Unfortunately, most of the cementing ideas have yet to take root, but so far – the backstory bears a striking resemblance to Pinocchio and one of Dr. Seuss’ unpublished/discontinued rhymes. I can’t divulge any more information about the origin, since there’s not much there to begin with, but I can give you a name and short synopsis. Heidae (pronounced HEY-day, not HI-de or HEED-ae), the second pet project to ever leave the double doors of TajLabs, is a self-learning, high functioning android built for the sole purpose of aiding the gentrification process. The idea arose after Tahajin had taken a trip past New Cavae and noticed just how dilapidated some of the land was and how emaciated the building/living conditions were for the poor souls that couldn’t afford much else. Heidae’s hard corded to enrich handmade/mechanical constructions and terraform unusable soil. These feats are accomplished by twenty-four reconstructive contacts: small ones on each digit and toe and four large contacts on the palms and arches. Shortly after his completion, Heidae was sent past the city limits to refurbish an old, war-torn sector disowned by Xiphos. Within the hour, Heidae came back and ameliorated the ruins until they mirrored its original state. Noticing the untapped potential – Tahajin reconfigured and adapted those aforementioned contacts so they could also work on biological matter. Heidae now acts as the trump card for congenial and fatal medical complications as well as a reserved deployment post-tragedy. Heidae, like LUNA, was never mass produced, but his constantly upgrading himself in accordance with OSHA and architectural databases so he can perform the work of a nation in under a half hour. Between directions, he occupies his time mucking around with small building materials, from which he creates an assortment of structures, ranging from intricate small replicas to sprawling designs. Do note that, as expedient as Heidae is, he cannot create something from nothing nor can he IMPROVE upon the already satisfactory. He’s able to compress enough materials to rebuild a metropolis, but – should he run out – that’s it. He’ll need to resupply. Also, Heidae cannot correct birth defects, as that is the individual’s ‘original state’. In terms of aesthetics, I was going to go with something Megaman X Zeroesque, with large gauntlets and boots coupled with bolts and an old-fashioned tool belt. For his visage? Vertical lines trailing from the center of the eye down to the chin like a marionette. One thing’s for sure, though – he’s definitely going to be modeled after a monkey. I’ve yet to decide which one, but it’s definitely happening! As for the personality, I’m probably going to go ahead and side with something like Monk or Wei: Exceedingly skillful at what he does, yet utterly bumbling at everything else.

Saul (Chase): Daaaaaaaaaaaaaag~ That's pretty awesome ^^ Sounds so damn awesome! I wish I wasn't so morrally corrupt and messed up in the head so I could have a world with a character wanting to fix the world (as well as accomplish doing so in small bits). Pah... Bleh, monkey... I'd change it to a different breed. Though, I'm just highly bias, so don't listen to me X3

'Twas just a conversation regardin' a character concept between me and my ol' pal, Chase. Who knows, I might end up bringin' this to artwork, if I can plot out a somewhat decent design.
