Victoria, Vicky or Vic to most, is a bit of an oddity on Esoteria. She is not a cybernetic or robotic creature, though she is a construct. Created as somewhat of a life-like doll, she was not born but was created and then given life.

Vicky, before meeting her love, Io, was frequently asked questions about her origins because of the obvious joints and synthetic materials. Occasionally, unruly folk accosted and grabbed her without consent only to discover just how alive she is when they caught a quick kick to the chest or a claw to the face. Whenever these types of events came up, the poor bat would hear observers calling her things like 'synthetic' and 'doll' frequently in combination, and it really upset her.

Truth be told, her origins are a mystery even to her. She does not remember anything other than waking up from a long dream to find she could move her body on her own as those alive do. She was in a room amid a large symbol surrounded by many large candles with indecipherable scrawlings all over brightly colored walls. She did not have any memories, but she did know things. She could read, ambulate, take flight, speak and understand several languages, and gesture, among other common daily things a person might do. She also found a small piece of paper near her when she woke that was mostly more indecipherable scrawlings, but two words were written very clearly: Victoria Pemberton.

Despite her unknown origin, she fit in quite well with the people in the area she found herself. She took on odd jobs and things that didn't require proper identification to make money while crashing at different people's places until she could finally afford her own place.

She didn't know why she was alive, but she was certain she didn't want to stop being alive, so she never dared to look into the event surrounding her awakening. People who ask always get a rather rude response along the lines of 'None of your ****ing business!' and those who kept trying to ask either ended up in a brawl or never saw her again.
