'Androgynous fashion' far too often focuses on 'DFAB folks in fancy masculine clothing' as the only acceptable form of androgynous expression. Fuck, says I, that. I am too fabulous to be contained in a three-piece-suit (though it's sometimes nice to visit there). Besides, I've always liked rainbows and tutus.. and I really enjoy a button-up shirt and tie... and ya gotta have accessories... hm, might as well put it all together! Tada :D

This is also something of a stylistic experiment to try blending in a more smooshy painterly way... and maybe get more of a traditional media look going, too. Collage! :D

    AMAZING outfit, I love it.

I've noticed the same thing about andro and gender neutral stuff. What you've ensembled here, however, is gorgeous.

It's so bothersome! I hate this popular concept that only DFAB people can be androgynous - because androgynous is coded as 'looks sort of like a masculine person' and therefore when a DMAB person does it they aren't viewed as doing anything transgressive, because they just end up looking like a 'regular dude'. Masculine-as-default is really irritating. @_@ Anyway, thank you!

I can agree with this, Im DFAB and I hate how it seems like DMAB can't be andro :/ its like Jeez can we get some andro guys in tutu's and ties here please and thank?

and I personally never liked the suit and tie thing give me a buttonup shirt tie and some pinkie frill and Im good.

Haha, I see we have similar tastes indeed! :3c

        yush :3

cause I guess I never understood why alot of people think for Neutral wear ya gotta be in a suit. its like Uh I can be plenty Neutral lookin in my band tee's jeans and frilly scarf.

Right? And I don't think stuff like skirts, low-cut shirts and stockings should necessarily be coded 'lady clothes' either anymore than slacks and ties are 'dude clothes'. Honestly I think androgyny should come from MIXING so-called mens' and womens' clothing, not just one thing or another. Or literally neutral clothes like jeans and tees, like you said.

I'm a DFAB trans dude but I prefer more feminine androgynous clothing than masculine. Give me heels and a skirt any day really. Cute pic, love the outfit <3

I can't manage heels cause bad joints but skirts woo!

      • Link

        ....I haven't tried wearing heels since my knees got worse. Oh god now I'm scared I won't be able to wear them anymore ;_;

        • Link

Eek! I think it's mostly the ankles, not the knees.

          • Link

Hopefully. Damn now I wish I had a sona I could dress up in pretty clothes. Need to finish revamping my monstersona haha

            • Link

Haha, that's like.. the whole reason I made Kit as a character. WANNA DRESS UP

              • Link

Hope to see more dress ups then :D

This is fabulous, not just in the sense of fashion but also in your statement. Those leggings are too big for you, I wanna see a pic of you in them without them all bunched up! That'd be cute!

    • Link

Hee okay! :D I like runched leggings myself but I can draw something where Kit is wearing ones that fit better, haha.

      • Link

I'd love to see Kit just standing there, or sitting on the edge of a bed or something, pulling on those leggings! With one still not all the way on and hanging down all saggy... I'd draw it myself if I could draw clothing folds!
