Seven Pack Pantheon: Horus by Farel

Seven Pack Pantheon: Horus

Farel

And so we reach Horus, the God of the Sky, Light and Protection.

Joseph was portrayed as a sissy. An unmanly guy who gets pushed around a lot. I had planned that eventually he'd become a sailor, would come back thinking he's more manly, but he would turn out to still be super wimpy.

However I did plan for him to later discover what "being manly" really means, as he stands up for himself, both regarding his girlfriend and Voren.

This seemed to fit to with the story of Horus, who had spent a lot of time abused, but eventually became the King of the Gods. I had decided to depict him in a way which didn't seem to fit Joseph, but it should something that he could consider admirable, impressive and manly. The choice fell on a "Harley-Davidson biker". Free like the wind, riding into the sunset... Oh and curiously, as I struggled with the design, I was getting desperate, willing to completely go with a different concept, but then... I thought of the biker called "Meathook" from one Simpsons episode, and all of a sudden, I had a clear idea for a look!

Also, if you payed attention, you will notice that Voren's deity is Seth, Horus'es big rival from the same pantheon! This was intentional, as the 2 characters ended up living together, and they had quite the dynamic between each other. I even had an extremely crazy idea, because there was apparently an event where North and South Egypt united, and because each of the 2 had used one of the 2 deities to symbolize them, there was a fusion of Horus and Seth into 1 God with 2 faces. I had thought that Joseph and Voren could eventually do some crazy fusion dance and perform this big miracle, but alas, nothing came of it.... and who knows, perhaps it would have been a bit much, but I hope you find the idea neat.
