Steve was another character who wasn't that remarkable. A much less interesting version of Raphael...

The idea for a redesign, was him to sort of become "the kid" of the team. This didn't make much sense logically, since all the main characters are of the same age, going to the same class, but when did anything make sense in my comic?

If look back at Chapter 8, Page 4, you can notice that in the last panel Steve is crying. Originally I had intended for him to be really angry, but as the transition to a more peaceful child was in the plans, I did settle on the sadder reaction instead. WOW, how cool that I can actually point towards something and say: "See? Here's proof that I had planned this!"

Admittedly, much like with Joseph, I could claim that Steve wasn't too well written, so this couldn't have been a bad change! However I do remain less convinced. It felt like something more based on tropes of there being a cuter character in the cast, than an actual need for someone like that...

So yeah, that was meant to be the new Steve. END OF STORY!!!
