Hooray that Vishquinza mount animal I mentioned a while ago on DeviantART has finally appeared. Dowczos are a bipedal amphibious species that used to be found throughout the planet Numamai (more on that in a sec). While they spend most of their life swimming in swampy water their legs are very well built and they are quite capable of running at speed of over 35km/h and even faster when they fully mature. As they grow from tadpoles to adults their skin colour darkens with the exception of their back stripes the become quite bright and neon, their head structure chances a bit, their teeth become numerous and long, their muscles become quite thick and they gain arms. Yeah you read that right, the little image seen on the side is an adult specimen. Vishquinza spent centuries naturally selecting for individuals that would not undergo full metamorphosis, partly because they made good transport and partly because while young ones mostly eat plant matter and small vertebrates adults are pure carnivorous predatory anger... and are much much bigger.
As such over time wild Dowczo were culled to near extinction therefore their species is frequently represented by the domestic population.

When it comes to behaviour Dowczo are... not a very smart species but they can be taught a number of useful traits. They're quite energetic and noisy, the sacs on the sides of their face allow them to make several unique croaks and bellows. Overall they're actually one of the least cranky death machines on Numamai at least in this form.
