I'm glad I'm kinda on a role with these since I still have so many to upload ._.
The Melgo are rather interesting not only because of their pretty interesting anatomy but the fact they're from the same planet as the Stardogs. Genetically they don't seem particularly closely related.
Melgo came on the scene when smugglers stole a few from a research vessel during a expedition to collect more specimens from their planet. Melgo are one of the only known multi head vertebrates in the universe in which it was an intentional trait rather than a debilitating mutation.
You see the planet in question was oddly absent of that many species but what have been found has mostly all been cyclops. Melgo are predators and could benefit from having depth perception so at some point down the line evolution went "screw it extra head" instead of just giving them two eyes on the same head and you get this. Interestingly though Melgo only has one true brain. Their other head is mostly fluid filled with a small primitive brain that seems only capable of instinctual reactions to stimuli, the head with the brain has almost all control over what it does.
As noted Melgo are predators by nature and despite being kept captive frequently by unsavoury individuals capable of getting their hands on them... make very poor pets. Their hunting drive is incredibly strong so they will frequently attack and outright kill anything small enough to seem like prey such as other pets and even infants. Also despite being decently intelligent they aren't easily trained.
Also if you're wondering they do reproduce in the same way stardogs do BUT they need additional factors than just consuming glucose to reproduce therefore their numbers never get suddenly ridiculous.

As far as designs go I wanted both a multi head alien and something that looked more directly cat like so this came to mind. Also made them a blue as a contrast for the hot pink stardogs seem to be :U. So enjoy!
