This is an interesting species for one neat reason. They're actually associate with being transport for 2 out of 3 of the sapient species of Tempae (planet of the Ferron, Chi'Tsao and Ginaga). Salagoi are gentle giants having about as much aggression them as your average manatee but they're decently intelligent for gastropods so they can be trained to walk on command and change direction. Because they're big nice herbivores with a built in seat in the form of a shell both Chi'Tsao and Ginaga chose to domesticate them at least at some point. Ginaga obviously chose a larger sub species (seen here), many salagoi sub species are less impressive with their size but are still pretty impressive for what is essentially a slug.

You'd be surprise to know despite being a snail slug thing they're actually decently speedy because they did something pretty badass: they evolved front limbs. Like fully functional ones with makeshift bones and muscle. As a result they can scoot along on their mucus a lot faster. Also since they're not actually earth critters they have a few other differences like having multiple sets of eyes and their lower face tentacles have adapted into these flap things they use to make noise for communication.
