Merman with Octopus by ElrondDrakendil

Merman with Octopus

ElrondDrakendil

MEDIA: Colored pencils on vellum bristol board/2012

ATTRIBUTION: Goldeen Ogawa/goldeenogawa.com

NOTES: Thought after all those old watercolors, I'd post a fairly recent colored pencil piece. This was completed last year for an art show -- but it's still for sale (currently on display at a local coffee shop/gallery). Drop me a message if you're interested. ;)

I had a lot of fun with these guys. The merman I wanted to look like a fusion of dolphin and lionfish; I had to do a handful of little sketches just to figure out how his anatomy worked just to get his pose right here. The octopus was just fun though. Uncertain whether it will ever crop up in one of my stories, but I'm pretty sure the Merman will.

    What a beautiful drawing!

Amazing! I love the stylization, the markings and the flow of this. It does come across a bit female to me, but I still love it!

So...is this still available? If so, how much?

The original? Matted and framed (before tax and shipping) I'm asking for $200 USD even. Unframed would be $180, and probably a little cheaper to ship. Unframed and un-matted would be $175 and include free shipping within the US.

And of course you can always get a print from dA: http://www.deviantart.com/print/30745472/ :)

If you're interested please message me, I can give you my email and we can discuss it further from there! (Either way I'm glad you like the piece!)

Sent you an email! For future reference, if a user allows it (like I do), you can find a "message" button on the right just under their banner (on the same "line" as their username). It's there along with the "follow" and "friend" buttons. A little hard to find, I'll admit.

I wish I was my usual verbose self today, but for now I'll settle for saying this is absolutely beautiful.
