dray-and-erika

Draygone: "Hey, you was supposed to become a skunk-dragon like me! We can't stay twins if we're not the same!"
Erika: "Too bad, taurs are awesome and I wanna be one."
Draygone: "Well, if you don't change into a dragon, I'll spray you!"
Erika: "Nuh-uh! If you spray me, I'll spray you back!"

ALRIGHT! Time for SHORT REFRESHER COURSE IN THE HISTORY OF DRAYGONE!

When I initially joined the furry fandom, I had a plain ol' dragon as my fursona, also named Draygone. But he developed into his own character, and I wanted a fursona to represent myself. I wound up choosing to be a raccoon, the deciding factor being that I'm pretty sure Super Mario Bros. 3 is partly responsible for me being furry. As an homage to my previous fursona, I "inherited" certain traits from the dragon: the wings, the red hair, and the nose-horn, the last of which we no longer sport since Erika age-regressed us to 6 and the nose-horn didn't "grow in" until 8. As for my old fursona, we decided that he should be our characters' long-lost father, who left us at an orphanage for reasons our characters are too young to understand.

Anyway, even though I decided on raccoon, I almost decided on being a skunk, instead. Since then, I've developed a bit of an obsession with skunks, an obsession that is currently shared with Erika. If either of us meet a skunk character, they're probably gonna get hugged. Shame I've never seen one in real life (although I don't think I'll try hugging those). Now, there have been a few times where I've tried out being a skunk-dragon, but I could never stay away from being a raccoon-dragon for very long. So, safe to say that choosing raccoon was definately the right choice. (Being raccoon-dragon PLUS skunk, on the other hand...)

Of course, Erika just chose to join me as a raccoon-dragon because she liked the idea, so she doesn't quite share that same what-if connection. Which is the inspiration behind this picture. I will admit, though, taurs ARE pretty awesome. I'd probably consider being a raccoon-dragon-taur, instead, but I can't figure out how flying could work not-awkwardly. That, and taur mechanics still have a long ways to go in Second Life. =P
