Parkour Doran by Doran Eirok

Parkour Doran

Doran Eirok

(2009) I drew this shortly after buying myself a pair of Vibram Fivefingers toe shoes and falling madly in love with them. They're a lot of fun, working with your feet in a natural way that most shoes don't and making it feel like you're walking barefoot everywhere while still providing protection from gravel, hot pavement, etc. This has the effect of helping you balance better and feel more in touch with what you're walking on. From a furry/anthro standpoint, I think of them as artificial pawpads. Wearing them has a tendency to make me feel more fit than I actually am, and like I should be doing parkour across rooftops and such (pictured).

I don't actually do parkour; I can only wish to be quite that cool. But I figured the picture had to be drawn anyway. The video game Mirror's Edge obviously helped inspire the image as well. That, and it was another good excuse to exploit perspective to use it to show off paws. ^^

That's some pretty impressive perspective. You seem to have that down well, I feel like I'm only now getting the hang of it.

To be honest it's very hit-or-miss with me! I've had some good luck with perspective attempts turning out as I'd hoped, but plenty of practise attempts where it really hasn't worked, too. It's not easy stuff!
