Impatient by Deriaz

Impatient

Deriaz

Lion, or some sort of big cat, pencil sketch. One or two images done for an example of a commission variant, which hopefully, I will have that new sheet completed tomorrow.

Enjoy. Critiques are still welcome despite the roughness.

It's a very nice pencil sketch style...not amazingly detailled, but not overly simple, either. As an example of a commission variant, I think it's a nice one...as a drawing itself, I think it's very lovely. :)

Yeah, I lost a bit of my handle on pencil sketching. I'm hoping to get it back soon -- this image plus the one I just uploaded of Deriaz are sort of me finding my handle again a little bit. Similar to some of my old college work. My thick/thin is all over the place, but it'll stabilize soon if I keep remembering to use pencil!

      Thank you kindly. <3

        You're most welcome! :)

I just really love seeing traditional mediums being used by younger artists today...it gives me hope that traditional art won't really die. :D

I love that fur: very wind-swept/electric.

Aha, thank you! I hadn't quite figured out how to do realistic fur in traditional yet. So we may as well go for the next big thing eh?

      Glad you approve! <3

I really like your textures in general. A lot of it is simple shading and contours, but it just comes out so well.

your sketches have a wonderful feel to them. they're raw and emotive but they dont look rough at all! i'd love to see more of this!

Ah, you don't find them too rough? Hmm. Maybe I over-estimate how much a stray line or three might distract people. I'll keep that in mind.

And hopefully you will! People have enjoyed these recent pencil sketches. I'd like to try and do them more. I love working in graphite.
