Tenjal the "Cow'bold" by Deriaz

Tenjal the "Cow'bold"

Deriaz

Time to start making nicer and nicer things for my new portfolio I plan to make for job hunting. Some of you might remember this guy from... Oh god, June, was it really that long ago?

I forgot about him, but noticed him hiding in a folder as I was looking through artwork from the year. Figured he'd be nice as a starting point, a good character illustration. I ended up learning a lot doing this, even if he did take me quite a while, but now I know for next time! So that's good. I'll make sure to use this new info well.

Music - Make sure to check out the official video. Slightly NSFW, so not directly linked here, but it's some great animation to go with this jam.
Graphite, Photoshop.
Critiques welcome as always!

I love the brush-strokes in this...it gives a nice sense of texture! :) I also like how your scales have depth (bumpiness...they don't look "flat") to them and the little smoke effect from the gun! :D

Thank you kindly! A few people gave me some hints in that regard to make the depth and the texturing. Originally, he was very boring and dull, "like pulled clay" one friend (Stigmata, specifically) commented. He got another pass to fix that all up, and it was totally worth it in the end.

        You're most welcome! :D

That advice definitely helped then...especially since it let your painting come out like this! :)
