Dragon Dance
by Dekafox
Scales black as midnight
With eyes like stars
She flies through the sky
Destination unknown.
A cruel visage
A ferocious look
Yet still inside
A gentle dragoness lurks.
Scales of the twilight
With sky-blue eyes
He rides on the winds
His path undefined.
A fox-like appearance
A curious glance
Yet his heart is hidden
Under scales of steel.
Beneath the clouds
The two paths cross
Dragon meets dragon
Eye to eye.
A flip of a wing
A flick of a tail
A questioning rawr
Is answered in kind.
Eyes like the eagle
Peer deep inside
Defenses are lowered
True selves come to light.
Two paths intertwine
As wings catch the breeze
A new direction is chosen
And two fly as one.
A brush of a tail
A gentle cheeklick
Eyes full of promise
And a future of hope.
Around each other they fly
And dance on the clouds
Weaving patterns of love
Together as one.
An ancient dance
To songs of the soul
As mates they fly
Forevermore.
Part of a series of poems I wrote when I was younger, and in a long distance relationship. This one is a bit more specific in its imagery of the two dragons.
