Connections
by Dekafox
However close or far
Two people are,
They see the same sun.
They see the same moon.
Connected by the dance
Of electrons that entrance...
A touch of fingers? A brush of lips?
Or words brought forth by fingertips?
Whether a thousand miles, or just a few feet,
When two hearts connect, as one they will beat.
Near or far, here or there,
When two souls connect, tender feelings they share.
Whether a flurry of shapes, or just one form,
Within there still beats a heart that is warm.
Heart to heart, mind to mind,
A gentle touch to be returned in kind.
An unknown path awaits the two
A future of promise, and of storms to go through.
As they face it as one, side by side,
They walk it together, one step at a time.
Part of a series of poems I wrote when I was younger, and in a long distance relationship.
