This was actually the first repaint, and the only other mod I did. the Nova Prime (aka Black Hawk) was one of my favorite units since I almost won a Battletech tournament with it. While a little slower than I like, it matches up with my preference for jump capability and lots of energy weapons, both of which I blame on having played Mechwarrior 2 Mercs before the board game.

When one of the initial mechs released in the first MWDA set was a Black Hawk with a dial that matched what I would expect from the Nova Prime, I was all over it, but didn't like the fact that the actual mold was sporting missile racks. Or a roll-cage over the cockpit. Or weird piston things on the side.

By the time I was done, I had removed all of that, mounted 6 banks of 2 ER Medium Laser housings on teh arms, and painted it up in my newly created Jade Falcon colors. It served me well in quite a few official MWDA games until the actual Falcons arrived.

At one point I had planned to re-do the arms with the laser bundles off a later mech miniature, but it never happened and with the game long dead, it probably never will. On the upside, there's always the ability to play classic Battletech with these as the minis!
