Just my opinion on whats been happening or just some thoughts. not necessarily a rant of sorts.
Its 13 minutes long , So the gist of what I was saying revolves around how I dont understand the defense and the attachment to one site. People on FA are free to stay and continue doing what they do. Its the "you shouldnt leave" or "Cant leave" is what gets me. Many folks need to understand that its just a website. People shoving things under the rug is too common.
Also litte swearing here and there. Forgive meee . Also first audio thing on my page! Cooool! lets see how this works.

PS I couldn't agree more about leaving because of the sheer incompetence of FA's staff. They've been promising ANY form of update to their UI or whatever for many many years and have never delivered, and they easily could have, and got blown out of the water by better designed sites, that's why I came here, in fact I abandoned FA months ago, I didn't need any scandal to leave (not like I'm anybody of importance anyway, but still).
The hostility people are showing on FA towards people who want to go to weasyl is confounding to me, I've been trying to work it out in my puzzler for a few days (or my entire life WHO CAN SAY THE DIFFERENCE) and I think it's a very serious issue, because it's the reason people prefer familiar inferiority over new, fresh, and better. I think it's a desire by the masses to fight against change. It's weird to see it portrayed so nakedly, to see a specific person you can point to, with a profile page and everything, who says ridiculous shit like "I bet weasyl is run by child molesters" for the mere fact that they don't like change (I for real saw someone say that on a FA post yesterday). Even more importantly than identifying this social trend people have against change, I'd kind of wish I knew how to best combat it. Then again my natural trolling instincts make me pretty incompetent at convincing anyone to do anything right, if anything I'd just make it all worse. :3c

Hahah I missed this second comment. I thank you for thoughts and experience on the matter too. The sheer amount of some of the comments blew my mind on how people shouldnt leave. Well...those that were unreasonable. I think the only real way to combat people against change is to just Change , if that makes any sense.

Probably yeah, if they just see people getting along fine with using weasyl maybe they'll consider it. Sort of like that one guy in the bar from On Deadly Ground that Steven Seagal punched so hard he stopped being racist, they just need time to change.

THANK YOU. The fandom is not a website. The fandom is a concept. And what IS on the website is a community. And sadly the community is torn by people who want things better for the fandom and people who want to ignore what's going on by calling it drama and perpetuating rape culture. The sad thing is, a great deal of the people working on FA and blindly following those vile people are just contributing fandom rot, and it really is the community's fault. Too many years of being overly open/accepting while not pointing out people who act horrible to others ("it's not effecting me or you/it's none of my business") has allowed a lot of harmful people into the fandom and it's just....a big mess. "If there isn't physical evidence or a police report, then rape never hapens. / It's a free website and you shouldn't complain. Who cares how it's run, just enjoy the porn! / UGH I hate women. They have really messed things up this time." These are the kinds of things that are NOT okay to say, yet a lot of FA supporters are spouting this dribble. TOO many people. A looooot of people are showing their true colors, and the more I see just how big the fandom rot has become, the more I wonder why I should ever bother saying I'm a furry anymore.

I honestly never really followed any of the drama on the site. Anything I learned or heard of related to the sites admins was from journals by others. I just joined the site to watch artists I enjoy, share in the art and meet new people. I still stay there too watch the artists who choose to stay or haven't heard about the drama. Though I'm gong too keep giving my support for Weasyl.
Hopefully FA will take this Exodus as a swift kick in the ass to get their act together.
I was not aware there were people going "You're a douche for leaving FA." That's news to me. I'm just happy too keep a watch on my favorite artists, that's why I joined these sites.

Even the smelliest shit hole, can be considered home, and it's scary to leave what is familiar. But what you are saying is all right for once and i scared that I'm agreeing with you :P.
