Small tribute to the Dutch national women’s team, the Lionesses, for making history this Sunday with their first EU cup. I am normally not all that invested in football (or soccer, if you prefer), but this was an event I didn’t want to miss.

Women's football is disproportionately underappreciated in the Netherlands compared to men's football, and this victory is an important step towards their public recognition. I’m stoked for the team, but also for all of the young women and especially little girls in the Netherlands who aspire to become professional football players. For them this victory will no doubt be an example and an inspiration.
