Comparison (OLD ART)

BlueNire

Whoa!
Okay guys, check this out!
(Please disregard that it seems like I've regressed... >.> heh...heh.....)

Artwork on the left was done in 2000, (My sophomore year in high-school-and dear lord it's BRIGHT!)..
(Oh yeah- done in Colored pencil, markers, and white acrylic paint.)
It was a representation of myself that I used before I knew what furries were!

And the one on the right is my current representation!

Whoa, crazy!

Oh wow 0.0 I like both but feel like the right one is more developed/fleshed out? Of course I'm jelly of the colored pencil skills.

AH thank you so much! It helped that the colored pencils I had back then were this really expensive imported brand.. ::thinks:: I think they were a gift from germany? (Grandmother) They're long used up but they were very nice! Very soft kinda like.. slightly harder oil pastels :D

I don't think you've regressed! There is really obvious improvement in your color choices and design details and all that. COLOR CHOICES ESPECIALLY both are gorgeous but yeah ;p you have not regressed <3

Your comment means SO very much to me. Thank you with all my heart! I hold your artwork in high esteem, so hearing this from you is just.....absolutely wonderful and I'll cherish it, thank you soooooo much!

Wellll I am a sucker for traditional art, so seeing the left one was like WOOAH haha! But its less a regression, but the change of style and medium that make these look so different. I have to be honest tho, I love the left one! Do you still do trad sometimes? Just don't post it or something? Or are you totally converted to digital? :D

Hahah thank you! WOW Thank you, really! I haven't done traditional in a long time- Mostly because when I moved my art supplies all got stolen so... I was reduced to using ONLY the computer and I just hadn't had enough space-money to get my supplies back. : / I've thought about trying it again because there's something really really ....intimate? (no that's too much) just special with being able to hold artwork in your hands. Hmm... so there's my answer! :D

Oh well, thats a pity :C I really hope for you you get the chance to try it out again. I'd love to see it for sure :D

"We all change. When you think about it, we are all different people, all through our lives. And that's ok, that's good, you gotta keep moving, so long as you remember all the people that you used to be." - Dr. Who

    Feels appropriate.

Very appropriate! Abillion point to you too for quoting Dr. Who, too!! :D Thank you for this :)

They are both very beautiful. Of course, old Nire critter looks so whimsical, like something out of a fantasy story. Of course I really love current Nire, with the neat horns and unique design.

Heheh Why thank you!! Yeah the one on the left really feels like something out of a child's story book? I think I was really big into unicorns and animation back then too so I can see that influencing me quite a bit. (Also all that HAIR but I had hair down to my mid-thigh at that age so it makes sense hahaha)

Both styles are exceptionally beautiful. I can see your talent blossomed early, but your personal style has definitely evolved. I couldn't even dream to be as gifted in that point of my life. It's wonderful to see past artwork and see the changes. The crazy stuff is when you find artwork from junior high. X3

Awesome improvement! Your current work looks much more developed and detailed; I love it :D

I know I'm late to the party here but I gotta say I really like both.
I love traditional art, especially of that style and caliber, the detail and color is just beautiful.
But the stuff on the right is very nice and detailed.

Something about the left side is really fantasy feeling, which I like, but the stuff on the right is more...realistic in the feel of color. I dunno, great job on both of 'em and I, for one, look forward to seeing you progress as an artist!
