Growphlosion

Growphlosion

The Typhlosion looked at the computer screen, confused by what he saw. The computer screen showed a simple program with many words he didn’t understand. His trainer installed it several minutes ago and set it up. To what end, the Pokémon didn’t know. But he did see it was running something. Words scrolled by on the screen along with an outline of… something, in the center of the screen. Typhlosion stood on his hind legs with his front paws on the computer desk. That helped him get a better view of what it was: it looked like him. An outline of a Typhlosion filled the window, along with a single word to the side.

“Big”

He didn’t know what that meant, but he did feel a tingling over his body. Cream and dark blue fur stood on end, even more than the usual tufts toward his back. It didn’t make much sense at first but he noticed that it was easier for him to keep his forepaws on the desk. He didn’t need to stand up quite so straight. Looking down at his hands he realized they were spreading, stretching, growing. With wide eyes the badger Pokémon let go of the desk and backed up. He saw a single arrow stretching upward from the bottom of the screen, and watched as the Typhlosion outline stretched upward with it.

All at once it felt like the world was shrinking around him. He didn’t quite understand what was going on, but as he backed up he felt his rump press into the back wall. That was much quicker than he was used to it happening. Turning around, he realized it was because he’d grown taller. The windowsill was now at eye level and dropped further as he watched.

The Typhlosion stood up again, looking through the window to get a better view. It seemed he was already tall enough that he reached the top of the window. He had doubled in height. In less than a minute, he was already twice as tall. With a tickling twinge of growth that changed, and his head bumped against the ceiling.

“Ty!” he cried out, before flopping backward on his butt. Flipping around to look at the room gave him a better view to see his legs stretch across the floor, and to feel his back rubbing up against the wall. Even while sitting down his ears pressed into the ceiling, followed by cracks in the roof when his head pressed harder. Just what was going on?

The growth stopped temporarily, letting the Pokémon get a better sense of his surroundings. Everything seemed smaller now, from the doorway to the desk. It looked more like he crammed himself into a doll house with everything just slightly too tiny. He looked at the door and realized there was no leaving through that now; it wouldn’t fit him even if he were on all fours. He didn’t dare move either, for fear of causing any damage to his trainer’s house. So just what could he do?

His gaze fell on the computer again, and he squinted at it. Maybe he could turn the computer off? The Typhlosion reached forward and pressed the keyboard. He didn’t know what buttons to press, but he watched his trainer use it many times in the past. Pressing the buttons on it always made things happen; he just needed to figure out the right button to press.

“Bigger”

That did something! He didn’t know what exactly would happen, but the word on the screen changed to something new. That was better than nothing. A second arrow appeared right next to the first one, and the outline of the Typhlosion pushed upward. Suddenly he wasn’t feeling as confident that he’d done something good. His body stretched dramatically, causing the floor beneath him to cave in. It dented beneath the tonnage of the enormous fire badger. Not to be outdone, his head pressed painfully up into the ceiling once more.

“T-Ty…!” the Pokémon grunted. He scooted his back down the wall, trying to get more leeway to grow into by lying more parallel to the ground. The growth was relentless and shook the entire room with each inch of height. Books fell from their shelves and cracks appeared across walls, the ceiling, the window he leaned against… If he didn’t do something soon the whole room could be in danger.

With a gulp the Typhlosion scooted away from the wall and leaned back even further, trying his best to fill all the available space. The computer program compensated with yet another burst of height to fill the freed room. It continued like that for minutes, with each scoot or awkward adjustment only providing a brief moment of respite for the giant ‘mon. His feet pressed up against the opposite wall. Typhlosion knew there was nowhere else for him to grow into. All he could do was try to fight the expansion. If he could just will himself to stop growing then everything would be fine. He clenched his jaw and closed his eyes, feeling a tingle over his body that built up like a fire in his chest. He halted the growth but for how long? The energy inside him felt like a dam ready to burst!

And then as suddenly as it began, the flood of energy ebbed. The cracks in his willpower held fast as the growth stopped just short of bursting through both room and mental fortitude. “Phlosion…” the Typhlosion sighed. Just in the nick of time too. He squirmed in place to get comfy, waiting for his trainer to return and fix whatever craziness that computer did to him.

That small movement was all it took to knock the computer’s keyboard to the floor with a clatter. It landed face down, pressing several keys as it did. And the Typhlosion looked at the computer screen in horror as something new appeared there.

“Biggest”

A third arrow appeared to fill out the trio, while the outline of the Typhlosion expanded dramatically once more. It grew upward and upward, until it pushed through a cartoon ‘ceiling’ drawn on the program’s window and rained debris downward.

“T-Ty!” he grunted, realizing he was soon going to suffer the same fate…!

Please be careful when dealing with strange growth programs on your computer. You never know when your Typhlosion might take advantage of it, knowingly or otherwise.

Hey! A for fun story!
Or at least, half for fun and half a gift for a friend. Buizilla (https://twitter.com/Buizilla) drew a picture of a large Typhlosion and I used that as a springboard for writing this. You can find his illustration here! http://www.furaffinity.net/view/22162487/
