Apparently the netbook did no want to cooperate with me when I wanted to upload this! So...lets try this again =P

This image came from the same modern tattoo coloring book as the previous image. The iconic art of Lisa Frank has made eyes one of my favorite things to draw or look at in any piece of art so I guess it is no surprise that I would like this image so much.

This is one of the few images I have done that I actually had a complete image of in my head and was able to translate it onto paper.

This is, in fact, a paper burning! Unlike the previous one I used TONS of color on this one. Also on watercolor paper, everything was burnt first before adding the color. All of the colors just lay on top of the burning with the exception of most of the water. I used watercolors for the background, and scales, two pilot pens for the pink eyelashes, and blue "fins". I had so much fun with that water....just letting the flow of the brush and the paint guide me and getting excited about each new section.

I really need to do more watercolors =D I might just have to upload a before and after color image for this one!
