So to those of you that have followed my art/known me for a while may remember that I used to own pet mice, a lot of them. I loved them all and made characters out of all of them. Some of those characters became important in the lives of my other characters, Sugar especially, as she is Neema's true best friend and has been since childhood.

Here I have Onyx and Sugar, they are twins and are very close. I may upload the old picture I did of all the mice that shows all their sisters and relations.

But these two have always been very special. Sugar was the first mouse I ever owned, a little feeder mouse, that ended up living to 2 years old. Onyx was my second, and she hung in there for about a year and a half. I'm sad I can't have mice anymore because of my kitties, but at least I was able to give some mice some really great homes back when I did take them in.

I don't care what people say mice have their own little personalities and are more aware than you may think. They are such wonderful and loving creatures. I have expressed their personalities through their designs the best I can, so I'll point out that Onyx having a shaved head with those two pieces of hair hanging forward is based on my mouse Onyx going bald early on and losing her fur in patches. And the glasses because Onyx didn't see so great as she got older. And yeah. Onyx is more all for the natural look while Sugar loves to dress up and be a little lolita kid.
