And here's the final piece of the triptych series, and the one that started this need to draw what I saw in my dreams.
Ironically he's been present in art at least six months before the other two, back in mid-late August.
I wanted to somewhat portray the environment he was in, being captive and in a rather small but deep holding tank.
He's a little guy, as porpoises (or pseudoporpoises I guess) go, little smaller than I am at about 5ft rostrum to fluke. At first mental glance he appeared as a dark porpoise with spotted dolphin-esque patterning... except for that dorsal fin....
I swear I've tried several times to get that slight ridging right, and I think this one is the closest despite being mostly in shadow. The body markings seemed to play with the wing-like ridges in patterning. The spots I couldn't really remember if they were there or not, but they felt right to put in.
The dream he was in was a much quieter one, where he was rather approachable and sensitive to emotions of any tank visitors. I think I was having a rough time of it transitioning back to Maine when he appeared.
