One ubiquitous feature of many starships, and especially their command centres, is hardlight screens. They combine the flexibility and space-saving of a hologram with the tactility of a touchscreen. Many of the cheaper versions, though, are... jumpy. Hence the situation concerning Relaxing Dragon's 'coon, a self-employed interface maintenance engineer (amongst many other job titles). Aboard the bridge of the ill-fated LLS Fortuna, a tempermental capacitor circuit has scuppered a routine adjustment of the main hardlight display, causing it to fire up while the 'coon's hand was still in its line of manifestation. The result: one completely trapped hand. Now if he can just reach the emergency cutoff...
