I wasn't happy with the mastering on this before, so I went back and cleaned it up a little bit, and added or changed a few other things that bothered me.
This theme is the credits theme for each 'episode' in the 4th season for my hypothetical game/currently is a novel and soundtrack project. The song begins during the last scene of every episode. (I'll note, in-game it would begin at the 3:20 mark.) Since most of the episodes end in some form of emotional roller-coaster drop, I felt it was a good choice.
This song is actually a theme of a character that becomes incredibly important in the 4th season, but has only been seen in bits before this point. Still, I've tried to make sure those snippets are very poignant, and foreshadow her appearance. She drives a lot of the story from this point on. Little hints of her theme can be found in earlier songs (The credits themes from Seasons 2 and 3, Derelict Ocean, and a few other character's themes contain bits of her influence, although it's most noticeable in Derelict Ocean.)

That was me (Blue Fox Verse,) working with my friend Malice X! :D
(That's the theme of Charlemagne, one of the characters, from this project, in fact! I haven't uploaded any of the arrangements of her theme yet, though.)
D'you have anything else of mine from back then? Malice sent me a lot of my old stuff from 2001-2005, but there's some things missing, that I'm always looking for! X3 I was curious if you had any old favorites, too... I could show you what's become of them since, as most of 'em have been re-used in some capacity, since I am lazy. x3
Ooh! I remember that song! You'll be happy to know that that one has been remixed about four times for a pretty wierd/expansive area of the story that needed four arrangements! It was always one of my favorite songs! ;~;
Found one of the arrangements on FA -- http://www.furaffinity.net/full/6482240/ I'd really like to do something with the arrangement I did with Malice X, too, honestly...
My goodness... you seriously have just earned yourself a new watcher. As a major fan and amateur composer of video game music, I found myself staring at the screen in awe as I listened and was inspired by this. You did a lovely job of combining a hip hop beat with violin and piano to create something that's both soothing and foot-tapping. And at 3:20, those lovely Oriental instruments <3 Everything about this song deserves a fave, and a rating of 12/10. Super awesome work ^v^
Eee! Thank you so much!! :D Nice to meet a fellow game composer, too! :D I'm really really pleased you liked this tune so much! x3 This one definitely came from the heart! The part at 3:20 ended up being my favorite part, too, and that's why I ultimately made the ending similar to it, n' stuff. ♥ Thank you again! :3
Thank /you/ for making music which finally got me to do the back bridge (Yes, totally doing yoga to this music) 8D But in all seriousness, I can see you put your heart into the remake. ^v^ It gives me hope that I can do the same sort of improvement once I'm out of university and have more time to myself c: It's no problem at all!
Wow, the back bridge! D: That one sounds really tough! Does the music help you focus and stay limber? If so, that's really awesome! :D
These sort of song-remakes (I first wrote this in '03, so it's been a long time in coming) are pretty hilariously common for me, because I like re-visiting old material.However, this sort of thing can /really/ help you out as an artist. Old ideas with new techniques and all that. :D I hope you can do that post-university, 'cause it's a really fun thing to do!
It does help me focus, and it helps me find a more relaxing place c: And I can relate! Before, I used to make music on my keyboard, and so everything was slightly off timed. Then, I discovered MIDI music and Anvil Studio, and now I'm discovering VSTs :D It's awesome and fun to go back and recreate my keyboard songs on the digital software. ^^
Yeah, it was the same way for me! I have a lot of trouble playing without a metronome, so, like, playing live meant that my songs came out super-jilted. Much later on, after discovering MIDI, it got easier to play rhythms 'cause I had a metronome, and then later, VSTs were like... mindblowing. xD Sounds like we walk the same path!

This reminds me of that one song that was shared in the vgmusic forums a long time ago. This sound familliar to you, by any chance?
