Carnotaurus was well adapted for running and was lightly built, making it possibly one of the fastest large theropods! It was preserved with extensive skin impressions from the jaw, neck, shoulder, rib cage, and tail. These imprints show a mosaic of small scales lined with large bumps (possible scutes) along the sides, and no evidence of feathers.
