Fishing is a relaxing past-time for many, though some might consider it a bit mean; for those that don't want to really hurt or kill what they catch, there is always catch and release.

This type of fishing was right up Thor's alley. The Salamence had a big basket of bait and a comfortable spot to try his hand at catching a certain sort of water-bound wild-life. But the friendly dragon didn't have any intention on truly catching and releasing his targets - simply feeding them was enough, and so he had no need of hooks. Simply tying his fishing line around each slice of cake was plenty effective enough.

Oh, I did mention his bait was cake, right?

Sure, it was an odd choice to the casual observer. Such a thing couldn't be cast out more than once without getting completely soggy and water-logged... But this was not an issue; his target would likely not even let it touch the water in the first place.

Sure enough, a hungry-looking creature soon paddled down the lazy river, letting out a number of happy chirps upon seeing the Poke'fisherman. Sam the otter he was, a lean yet capable-looking mustelid who was quite comfortable in getting near this particular hunter. Almost as if he knew him before... 83

Thor was, of course, ready to start fishing by then. His first cast came a bit short of the otter, but Sam was quick to dart up in a hard stroke to glomp the sugary bait right into his muzzle, quickly swallowing the dessert from the line. The Pokemon pulled back his now-empty line with a grin few fisherman express in such a situation...but for Thor, it was a situation just to his liking, as well as to his ottery 'prey's liking.

And so this continued, the Salamence casting out slice after slide of delectable sugar from his seemingly-bottomless food basket, breaking into the occasional slice for himself; casting that rod so much can really work up a Pokemon's hunger, after all! Soon, both creatures were pleasantly plump from their meals, with Sam easily the most 'pleasant' in such a case. It was almost a wonder how his many, many pounds of ottery-fat stayed buoyant in the water, but Sam was clearly experienced with floating in such a squishy state~

Eventually the basket did run dry, but that was fine. The duo were both more than sated...and they both needed enough daylight to waddle and flop-swim back to their homes. They needed some good rest after their meals... Otherwise, how would they have the energy to continue fishing the next day? :3

Man, this project took a lot out of me; this was a Detailed BG commission, so I had to put more work into the background than typically, as well as some other tricky parts...but, it was all totally worth it! Fatty creatures are always cute, otters are always cute, and marriage of the two are DEFINITELY always cute. <3

I only finished this a couple hours ago, and I just want to flop into bed, but I wanted to get it posted up first. :3 Especially considering we're gonna see a decent amount of FA downtime soonish.
