Epic Scene Commission for Remix, the Dutch Angel Dragon, breaking her bonds of darkness and rising into the light!

This piece is all about inspiration, and pure power, being able to rise above anything that tries to tear you down! I wanted to portray Remix very elegantly, twisting and turning as the claws of darkness lose their grasp on her. Quite a lot of subtle imagery here, from the many shapes the darkness tries to take as it attempts to keep its grip, to some certain lighting choices~

Background-wise, I was hella inspired and thought immediately to the ancient cisterns I explored when I traveled to Palestine a couple years ago. There was something so eerie, yet invigorating, to be in a pit of utter darkness, and look up into a sudden, blinding circle of white piercing down from the desert sun.
