I feel like the comic here explains what I mean pretty well. The journal has more details though. Here, I will elaborate only a little bit.
It feels like forever since I have drawn Bell in a meaningful way. In fact, can you even tell me three facts about his personality looking through my entire gallery? I feel like that would be tough to manage. Bell is an extreme example, but each character that I have had for years and years feels hollow for the amount of time I should have spent on them. I have fallen into a rut where I draw the same few things about them constantly. So starting on the new year I will be working on each character one at a time. One week each. For me to give them back a voice.
And I want others to join me with their own characters. Maybe you don't have the same problem I do. But I'm certain there are a few details you have thought up but have never shown yet. Or maybe you just want to spend some time with a character that's new or dear to you. Both are good reasons. I only have two rules with this "challenge" if it can be called that. Pick a character and a week to just draw them, and you cannot ever draw the same thing twice in the week (including anything you have done in the past before this started).
Share it if you want. Post a thing and see if you can get someone else to develop their characters a little bit more too. Or not. Either way I will be working on my own stuff anyways :)

I think I have said before, but I am always interested in people's character development. So seeing what made Keira-Jo them is pretty cool :D
If you want to develop a character or two then I welcome you to join in the fun.-
She's a character who was always important to me...even if she started as a whim (a 'sona to use in a fan club)--and with the time I was on FA, then people who may've known me before then.............I doubt that on the internet someone on most sites could get away with stealing her without someone else telling them the character belongs to me. XD It's nice to have a 'sona that people recognize. I've put............nearly 20 years into her, that's hard to believe, but the earliest stuff with her has a 1997 date on it. I hope to get more of the Zone Series illustrations done in 2017 (Ice Cap Zone is in my to-color folder!)............I just have to research a few backgrounds on the old Genesis games! chuckle

Daaaaang. The character is nearly as old as me.
Older than my roomate.There will be people younger than my characters in the future.
I am having a mini-crisis right now.

It just makes me............ the real me........older than dirt. XD
If you keep up in this world and community, you may see some people's grandkids who know who your characters are, especially unique ones like Viola. Because everyone loves sharks (except the people scared of sharks, but kids love sharks!). :)
Hang in there.................just think of "crisis" as "unknown adventure". ;)

I know that after being at FA for a year using Keira-Jo.......I redeveloped her for a more modern state. While there were a number of fans of the Archie Comic who could relate to her original background based on my fan-fiction she grew out of......not everyone could get that, especially those who are only fans of the Sonic games. So I gave her a modern Sega-style outfit (you should have seen the complaints I got on that! XD) and took the basic tenets of her personality and put them more prominent. Bold, outgoing, adventurous...........just removing the fan-fic-based background most people couldn't understand.
I think the two characters I need to develop more are Velvet Rain and Reni, both unique species adopts I received through special trades with the creators of the species, where I know their personalities......but I need to develop them more for the worlds they come from, as far as background goes.
