I'm a little thrown off because his voice is like... this one hamster in Hamtaro and I always hear that in his voice, but he's really great! He kind of reminds me of like... an older version of the protagonist in Transformers Victory since they both grew up around transformers their whole lives, though the specifics are different.

I think you’ve got a good point there. I just have recently been marathoning all TF series I have on DVD and realized I hadn’t watched the Japanese stuff in quite some time. “Masterforce” was a little trippy in that humans became Transformers. XD He really does feel a lot like Jean in personality!
I always kind of laugh that the human sidekick always has brown hair. Just because Spike did, it didn’t mean every human boy to associate with Autobots has to! XD
