Okay so there's been a lot of radio silence from me (oopsie-daisy) but I'm in a pretty darn good mood right now so I'm gonna type some words at you with my keyboard. My husband and I moved from Michigan to Texas in October 2012, and thanks to some restrictions on top of a short deadline, we had to settle for a very small, very crappy one bedroom apartment. We're talking small to the point where we had to get rid of even more of our stuff despite getting rid of almost all of our furniture and a lot of our possessions when we packed up. Over the past couple years, we didn't have the funds to even consider finding a new place, because if you've ever moved, you know how expensive (and time-consuming) it is. This year, we were finally able to squirrel away some cash and look around, and happened to snag our first choice of apartments we found while hunting!!

We actually looked at the same complex when we first got to Texas, but weren't able to live there at the time, so you can imagine how pleased we are to get it. The new place is double the size, has a washer and dryer in the unit, and has another bedroom for pretty much the same amount of money that we're currently paying for rent and utilities. I'm going to miss the part of town that we're currently in (especially because they're building an Aldi like a block away from us, and HEB + Walmart are a 5 minute drive away), but overall it's going to be an AWESOME change and I'm just so excited you guys omfg.

The nice thing is that we also gave ourselves a month overlap to move, so we have plenty of time to pack, clean, and transport our stuff. In our initial move, we had less than a week, which wouldn't have been so bad if that didn't include the time to commute 2500 miles and also look at/secure an apartment in an area that we'd never been to before with shitty ass credit to boot! (Thanks student loans!) Seriously... it fucking sucked and I hope we never have to do that ever again.

So things are looking up for us, and hopefully this good luck will continue because we have another really big change that we're hoping will happen in the Spring. ( ' u ' )/
