Let's Get to Know Each Other by lostSHADE

I feel like this would be fun to do to get to know you beings a bit.

Answer the questions here in the comments [or just link me a journal] and ask me 5 questions about me and I'll answer them. :D They can be questions you create or just the same here, or a mix perhaps.

QUESTIONS:

  1. What is your greatest personal achievement so far? Any current projects?

  2. Are you enjoying the current season or are you longing for winter to return?

  3. Are you able to think better in the daytime or night time?

  4. Do you have any spiritual/emotional connections to a particular natural structure? [say, the moon, forests, caves, so on] If so, why?

  5. Introduce me to one of your characters; who are they and what are they like?

Let the fun commence.

    1. Greatest personal achievement: My Weaslysphere software! I'm currently helping with Foxena Foxena's comic website (there's a lot of stuff in the works).
    2. I like fall the most! Or spring, if it's nice and rainy...
    3. Night time!
    4. Nope, not much of a spiritual person...
    5. Jade "Socks the Fox" Fisher is a somewhat timid, but kind and fun person. She currently works in Fox's R&D developing interesting tech. One of her grand projects is a holographic table system for displaying tactical maps, or maybe just for a game of D&D...

    Now the questions for you:
    1. What's your favorite webcomic?
    2. Your favorite artist on Weasyl?
    3. If you could see one thing in person without worry of safety or time, anywhere in existence, what would it be?
    4. What have you seen that you wish others could have?
    5. Foxes: best animal, or bestest animal?

What is your greatest personal achievement so far? Any current projects?

I was noticed in a contest by a very skilled artist :D
I was happy for like two days straight!

Are you enjoying the current season or are you longing for winter to return?

I'm more of a fall person since summers are brutal in subtropical climates. But summer isn't the worse thing in my life; I do have an excuse to get ice cream~

Are you able to think better in the daytime or night time?
Definetley night time. I get inspiration and sudden energy at night.

Do you have any spiritual/emotional connections to a particular natural structure? [say, the moon, forests, caves, so on] If so, why?
I do love the wind, it just makes me feel really free. I also feel a connection to plants since I really love gardening.

Introduce me to one of your characters; who are they and what are they like?

Out of my gazillion OC's, I have a soft spot for my wolphid Kenji.
    http://toyhou.se/110715.kenji
He's basically a sweetheart and I feel really connected to this guy since he personifies my anxieties, self-esteem, and basically the dark side of me (not evil, like the depressed side). Whenever I write him in a situation, I can imagine myself there since I basically went through the same thing he did. (he is the one I use for a LOT of rant art).
He's a gentle, young, and nervous guy who tries his best but seems to get bad consequences for helping. Kenji is a sensitive crybaby (he doesn't deny that) but he still tries his best.

    1. Getting my first job ever and lasting for over two years - I'm still at that job. I'm working on getting a driving license, public buses are shit in my country.

    2. I don't discriminate; I hate all seasons equally.

    3. Mind's blank most of the time.

    4. Nothing like that, no.

    5. My fursona is a Cheetah and is loosely based on Deus Ex: Human Revolution and its main antagonist(Is that the right word? English is not my native language) Adam Jensen, only instead of a corporate security chief, C.R.I.S.S was e member of the military when he was killed, and was brought back to life through prosthetic augmentation surgery funded by the military. I'm waiting for a new refsheet for the character and I'm looking forward to it. It's gonna be LEGEN - WAIT FOR IT! ...

    ...

    DARY!

What is your greatest personal achievement so far? Any current projects?

I spent a majority of a couple of years living on a motorcycle, camping as I traveled across the country, mostly by myself. I learned to do all major maintenance, including taking apart the head of the engine, replacing valve seals and lapping the valves, self-taught with the manual.

Current project is clearing out my commission queue in anticipation of living on the road again in a Subaru this time, at the end of next month. I am trying not to let fear of the unknown overwhelm me as I have no plans whatsoever.

Are you enjoying the current season or are you longing for winter to return?

The summers in the pacific northwest are hot, but not murderous. I'm happy it's stopped raining and I look forward to swimming this year!

Are you able to think better in the daytime or night time?

    Definitely the nighttime.

Do you have any spiritual/emotional connections to a particular natural structure? [say, the moon, forests, caves, so on] If so, why?

I really like the trees covered in moss and ferns that grow up here. Everything seems like it's pulsing with life energy when you walk through the woods, there are so many shades and textures of lush greenery that there aren't enough words to describe them.

Introduce me to one of your characters; who are they and what are they like?

I mostly only have one 'character', a dryad-like polymorphic ocelot/tree hybrid, with root feet and branch wings, I call it a treecelot. I like the idea of connection to the natural world, so the paws root into the earth as it walks. I haven't felt a need to really give it much of a personality as it's mostly symbolic to me.

    My five questions for you:
    1) If you could be anywhere in the world, where would you be and why? What makes that place special to you?
    2) What is your favorite song?
    3) Do you practice mindfulness/meditation? Do you have any opinions about it?
    4) What is your greatest fear?
    5) What is/are your most important artistic influence(s)?

    1) So far, my greatest personal achievement is definitely my novel. I also have a story in an upcoming anthology, which I'm fairly proud of. :3 My current project is a massive overhaul of that novel, which is why the current version is PWYW on Smashwords (and as low as it would allow me to set on Amazon.) I don't feel comfortable charging too much for an "old" version, but the new one isn't ready yet.

    2) Summers here are brutally hot. Winters are cold, too, yes, but at least then you can bundle up if you need to. D:

    3) As long as I'm awake and not groggy, I honestly don't notice that much of a difference.

    4) Alas, I am not really the spiritual type.

    5) Meet Sara! I need a better reference picture of her from someone who can actually draw, but all the commissions of her I currently have are NSFW. >.>;

    Questions for you!

    1) How did you get into drawing? Any sort of specific decision or inciting incident, or was it one of those "something you've just always been doing" things?
    2) Favorite and least favorite subject matter to draw?
    3) What subject matter or artistic concepts (for example, perspective, light/shadow, anatomy, etc) are harder for you, or something that you would consider a weakness? And is it something you prefer to avoid because of the difficulty, or something you actively work on improving?
    4) Favorite musical genre?
    5) Any advice for other artists? (Visual, writing, music, just creative types in general?)

    1. What is your greatest personal achievement so far? Any current projects?

This sounds so silly but even 20 years after the fact I'm still proud of getting cast as Captain Hook in Peter Pan when I was in elementary school because every boy in my school wanted that part. I also feel like in a happy/sad/bittersweet way that simply SURVIVING the past few years is kind of an amazing accomplishment.

    2. Are you enjoying the current season or are you longing for winter to return?

I am NOT a fan of summer. Bring on fall! Winter is okay too.

    3. Are you able to think better in the daytime or night time?

Night time sharpens, heightens each sensation. Darkness stirs and wakes imagination...

    4. Do you have any spiritual/emotional connections to a particular natural structure? [say, the moon, forests, caves, so on] If so, why?

Obviously bat wings are kind of a big deal to me. I'm very fond of spiderweb patterns too. They have spiritual/occult significance that I don't fully understand yet but I was drawn to them as a kid simply because I just loved spooky things.

    5. Introduce me to one of your characters; who are they and what are they like?

Hello, my name is Stoker Bramwell and I like spookies and hate pants.

//What is your greatest personal achievement so far? Any current projects?

Depression clouds my judgement so I can't give an honest answer. I don't feel I've achieved anything worth a mention. My current project is that game I'm working on, but I'm displeased with it so far. I'm also working on a RaspberryPi Windows IoT project which will likely go no-where.

//Are you enjoying the current season or are you longing for winter to return?

I like the heat and love the sun. But I do not enjoy the humidity. Being restricted to public transport and my own legs means I do prefer the UK summer over winter though. Optimal operating temperature of self is 17-27C.

//Are you able to think better in the daytime or night time?

Night time. I cannot stand mornings.

//Do you have any spiritual/emotional connections to a particular natural structure? [say, the moon, forests, caves, so on] If so, why?

    Not really.

//Introduce me to one of your characters; who are they and what are they like?

I haven't done or maintained any world-building for my character(s) in a very long time so there's not much to tell. My fursona itself is mostly biological but with lots of cybernetic implants, both macro and micro in scale. They are a pretty isolated individual. They can eat but don't really require much in the way of food to survive. Their species is of unknown origin and was probably genetically modified to begin with.

    1. I would say the fact I've started and stuck to an original project for about 3 years and its still going now. Usually I get completely lost in how to progress within a few months and go back to fanart but not this time! the end game with this intellectual property of mine is to start a graphic novel. Depending on my health I may be ready to do that by 2017 as there's still tons of concept art that needs to be done.
    2. Besides my allergies getting irritated I fucking love the summer. The winters here are super harsh so understandably I like being able to actually leave the house without snow/ice being around trying to break my legs + temperatures cold enough you can legit die if you stay outside too long.
    3. Night time for sure. I kinda brain fart most of the day.
    4. Nah not really.
    5. Uh... hmm. This is Holto https://www.weasyl.com/character/15837/ranloo-holto She's one of the main characters of my sci fi, she the youngest main character as well as one of the youngest characters I have overall but despite that she's a very skilled mechanic... and already quite huge. She's a species of alien that kinda hits puberty a bit faster than humans do so even at 14 she's already about as big as she's ever going to get. Personality wise she's a bit of a valley girl type individual that likes shopping, cute things and jewellery and like talks like this~. Its also quite obvious she's a teen because she's pretty much the brattiest character I have and gets argumentative with people, especially if they're ordering her around. She's very loving and supporting though, so much though she is really the fastest to very overwhelmed when a bad thing happens. All in all she's a really sweet kid albeit leaning a bit on the "annoying" side at least for some people that don't have patience for characters that aren't yet super mature.
