After dropping that cash on getting my car fixed, the timing tensioner ended up breaking when I was going 45-50 miles an hour, completely destroying the motor beyond anything resembling saving. So I no longer have a car, but it's alright. I'm borrowing a vehicle for the time being, and I move in a couple months anyway.
I miss having a car, but i'm kinda glad it's gone.. to be honest.
Oh well.
wow, that's really fucked ;[ glad you're alright, though. you never want to have any kind of car problem going 50 :C
Ouch. I know these things always pick the worst possible time to break down, but that really sucks! Sorry you had to pour all that money into getting it fixed, first, and I hope you can get a new car without too much trouble.
Been there, done that in a Buick Park Avenue I aptly named the Stealth Lemon. Replaced the head gasket only to have the engine blow less then a week after getting it back. Cylinder rod broke or several or something like that. I went from 6 cylinders to something that sounded like a sickly lawn mower. And it happened 15 miles out of town to boot. I limped it back to town, which took over half an hour, so at least a couple of the cylinders were still firing. Let's just say I wasn't pleased with that particular garage. Alas, I still owed money on it and basically was forced to drop an engine in it as I didn't want to tarnish my credit. Otherwise, I'd have gladly given the junked thing to the bank and walk away as it was one headache after another with that thing. Best of luck to you.
I'm sorry to hear that it blew up :( at least it's in a better place.... where no one else can possibly drive it :bbbb
