SUPER COOL SETS by Malachyte

What is up everybody? I just finished winter break, so I'm back at work now (I work on a college campus so when school's out, work is out). Right now we are just going through a training/cleaning week, and it is pretty boring but not too bad.

My coworker surprised me with gifts today from christmas! It was so crazy, I had no idea that was coming. I got a beautiful Japanese tea set, and I am using it as we speak to drink an entire pot of matcha iri genmaicha. We were supposed to hang out over break, but she ended up not being able to, and because she felt bad about it she bought me a second gift to make up for it, which would be a lovely sake set. I can't even express how much I love these things. The sake set is lovely gray stone, and the pitchers are shaped like gourds c: I've wanted both sets for a long time, and suddenly here they are!

Other than that, I've been sketching a LOT over break, and also knitting and such. I will slowly post my sketches over the course of the week; I haven't done them all because I am lazy about uploading. I will also post some of my knit stuff, too, and show that off a bit. It's so fun~

As for video games, I started and finished Okami for the Wii in record time (for me anyway, I am a crazy slow gamer). It was a beautiful game through and through, I have never been so in love with style choices since I played Persona 3. Everything was just gorgeous; the music, the voice actors, the line work, everything! And it was so... culturally accurate, too. It made me miss Japan a lot. So now that that's beat, I'm playing through Dark Cloud 2, a game I had since high school, but lent to a friend for several years and only got it back recently. It's so fun <3

So let me hear about people's winter time fun activities of various sorts. How was it? Any snow? Any sweet and awesome presents or silly family stories?

I moved out of state recently, and there's not much snow in Texas. It DID snow a bit on Christmas, though. I spent the holidays with my husband, my sister, and her husband. It was... odd. She asked me to be her surrogate if she can't conceive. Mind you, she's not even TRYING right now, and I have no interest in rearing my own children. :/

dafuq is wrong with people about children :/

I have a coworker who I told I wasn't interested in having children to, and she offered to bear my child if I ever became pregnant, so that I would see how great being a mother is once it was born. That... that is a pretty personal offer, bro.

Those sound like awesome gifts! I just got a bunch of games because I'm a tremendous dork and everyone knows it.

My winter was just working and not drawing as much as I should. We got a really pretty snowfall yesterday, though. If it isn't all melted by tomorrow, I might attempt some sort of snow sculpture.

Ha, yeah. I would have been pretty happy to get games too, but I have a growing pile that is getting ridiculous of games I haven't played or beaten, so it's time to stem the flow a bit. Steam sales certainly don't help that, though.

Oh man, I'm sitting on six or seven Steam games I got as gifts months ago and never touched. I'm terrible.

I have a handful of PS2 games I got in high school that I played about half of, then got distracted and left. High school was 6 years ago for me :I

I'm slowly playing through them now, and I feel like I'm lightening the burden on my very soul when I beat one, lol.
