Was just notified that I had three of my pictures removed from the site as per Weasyl's guidelines. The picture of the Nissan I have been working on I could maybe understand, but the other two? No, not buying it. The one in which my car was in my backyard was taken a certain way and framed as such to be more than just a picture of my car. Apparently that lacked "any artistic merit" and was removed from my gallery.
The other picture though, the one with my (legally purchased) semi-automatic and revolver handguns lined up in what was an obvious pose and not just two guns laying there on a table? Yeah that stinks of someone complaining about a gun being posted. They were photographed a certain way on purpose to make for a better more interesting picture. If that isn't an attempt at "artistic merit" I don't know what is
So alright then, screw it: Only commissioned art of giant wangs and messy fluids then...but only tasteful ones of course.
In case it wasn't obvious - I'm being facetious. This is BS but I'm not going to waste time on things like this anymore. Expect no more personal pictures or journals from me anymore unless it's something incredibly important (Like taking a hiatus or something like that).
Also, in case it wasn't obvious, I doubt you'll see many updates from me here anymore period since I haven't gotten a commission in months and any attempt to post my own personal stuff has seen it removed. Guess I'll just go back to being a "lurker" like the good old days when I felt it wasn't worth trying to make myself a profile and be more sociable.
Later people...for a long while I imagine.
I really don't understand how the removal of those two photos is bullshit when the rules state that pictures of things that you casually own aren't allowed. (I've read the rules before.)
Things that you casually own can be considered art if portrayed in a certain way. A car, which is "just" metal and composites in the grand scheme, can still be considered a beautiful thing for a variety of reasons. If that wasn't true then why make them look different at all? Might as well all just drive bricks with wheels then.
I do like your thoughts on recent games though. I may not always agree but I value another perspective.
I don't really care for pornography, especially furry porn (outside of artistic skill). I don't come here to look at porn.
I'm pro-guns, I think everybody should have the right to own guns.
I disagree with how many things are handled on this website so you're right on that point.
However, I still can't see how one would be able to take a photo of their gun collection or a car and make it artistic. Could you post a link to the images so I could judge for myself? I'm genuinely curious.
I think I'll actually have to take it again because I forgot to back it up. Yes, I know, good call on my part. Still though, when I do take another one I can note you the link, probably on imgur or something similar.
Personally I think it just makes me mad because I spent some time lining them up for the pic; I didn't just toss them (It was only two guns by the way) on a table and click capture. I'm rambling though: If you'd like the picture, once I take it again of course, I'll send it your way. Just let me know. Thank you for being kind about this by the way, it appears to be a rarity, even here.

Well I hope to see a journal every now and then, no one can/should complain about you talking about it. Be happy to see some art to, even if it's novice. But there's nothing wrong with taking a break.
