WELP MY TABLETS OUT OF COMMISSION by Lioness

so I have an intuos touch 5 and they have a usb wire cable that attaches to it, so it's not actually a part of the tablet.
That being said, this wire SUCKS and has been pretty faulty sinc eI got the thing. It randomly stopped working on me literally right after I put the tones in on my last submission. I was gonna write words on it but NOPE
I contacted support about seeing if another wire is available, even for purchase.
We'll see what happens.
THAT BEING SAAIIIDDD
I still have all my traditional art shit available 8')) I'm just upset because I was in the middle of a collab and 2 art trades... fml

I'm considering a cintiq if it turns out I cant even buy a new wire? idk probably not haha, I'll just get the newest intuos again |8 or wait a year idk.... I really like how heavy this tablet is, it helps me not hold/push everything so danm hard

If it's a mini or micro cable, you should be able to get a replacement at walmart or any electronics store. I had this same issue, several times, with my old wacom tablet. I had to replace it's cable roughly 4 times before it died entirely. X3

Either way, I hope you can get a replacement! 0w0

uhh idk what kind of cable it is? I just know it has the slot for the tablet and then the usb on the other end lmao.

Do the ends look like this? http://tinyurl.com/kwp3h54
        That's a mini-cable.
        Or this? http://tinyurl.com/jwnvypn
        That's a micro-cable.

        Both are easily replaced. 0w0

Yeah, Lolly's about. Ken, Al, Snowy, Redd, Skwerl, T1imigi, & Kuddles are all on Tumblr as well, I believe. With varying levels of activity & urls. XB
You should be able to find 'em through my follows lists, if you're feeling adventurous. It's fairly long. @n@
            I follow too many people I think....Oh well. ./can't stop.won't stop. UwU

I hope you can get the wire replacement...but if not, I hope you are able to save up for a new tablet!

When I got my Wacom Bamboo, I'd heard about how loose the cord was in this particular tablet...I took some craft "glue dots" and put them around the area of the plug-in port so that once the thing was plugged in, it is now permanently plugged in and I don't have an issue with the cord being loose anymore. (On the bad side, I can never unplug it anymore either......) So I don't know if you can do something similar to keep the cord from giving you issues if you have to replace it.

its too lae for that, I think. because no matter what position I put the cord in even if I'm holding it, the lights wont go back on. the wobbilyness is only a bit more than it was originally, so I didnt really recognize it..... lmao woops.
well i was also straight up ignoring that it was getting harder to keep the light on :/ figured I had more time

Good luck on working towards a new tablet, then. I hope you can do it!

It's probably still just the cable in this case. That sounds like the same thing that went on with my tablet, & as I said, I replaced the cord several times. My tablet itself lasted around 5 years. I would try to get a new cord first, as they run, usually, less $10 USD. Much better then a new tablet will cost. XB

          ok I just tried a new mini-cable and it didnt work..... it was way too wobbly, I think the actual plug-in hole on my tablet is the issue |;

          • Link

            Oh no. D8
Then I'm sadly no longer any help. OTL
You may try to take the tablet apart, see if you can tighten the wobble away, but that's a tricky thing to attempt. 0n0

OH NO! That sucks ;3; well good luck getting a replacement wire and/or new tablet.
