Uncomfortable, Leaving Weasyl by Coyote-Solitarius
I've been giving it a lot of thought, and currently I'm not comfortable with how Weasyl is being run, and I think I'll step out until the site is better managed.
Short and Simple Break-Down of the issues:

Staff has time to ban for not rating clean images according to absurd and convoluted guidelines, but reports of obvious rule breaking child porn go to the same place FA trouble tickets go to die.~Despite often asking for site feedback, there's little direct acknowledgement (comments on my post by a mod don't acknowledge my actual post) LINK
In addition to that post, I've tried to help via Twitter and email, with little response. My ideas may suck, but if you ask for feedback, it's polite to at least thank people when they take time to write some for you.~Child porn while against the TOS/AUP Rules, isn't actually removed, even after direct reports. LINK The mod I previously had success speaking to about this is no longer a mod (I assume for unrelated reasons) . I'm made more uncomfortable with the knowledge one of the mods actually draws kiddie porn and is a self-proclaimed "Attention-whoring douchebag".
I left FA when they chose to shield dog fuckers, rapists, and kiddie diddlers, and frankly, I'm not comfortable with where Weasyl is currently heading.
I apologize to those who watch me here, but until things change, I'm going to have to take a step back for my own peace of mind.

Man, it is getting harder and harder to stalk you. :P But I know how you feel. I've never quite felt settled here on Weasyl, I was very standoffish about the layout, and now you bring up the issues, I don't think I want to stay either. I'm MUCH happier on DA, and I'm falling back on the fence with FA. I thought I was okay with it, and I like the furry porn, but there are too many creepy rapey-commenters on there and I don't like it. So I'm debating leaving there too. TWT

I will say I got a little "eeeggghh" when FA peeps moved over here so quickly, but I'm holding on in the hopes this community cleans itself up before it gets really bad.
Either way, your decision is yours and I hope your travels through the internet take you to better places. You will be missed.

I've been growing more and more uncomfortable with Weasyl myself for different reasons (though these are pretty gross) but I am just running out of places to go.

I haven't actually seen CP stay up on weasyl though? I mean the only proof you have is a snippet on their ToS.

Shota is an aesthetic and can be used for basically twinks/femguys or teen guys. It doesn't strictly mean child porn.
And I meant your journal doesn't provide examples, it just quotes the ToS.

I'm not going to call out specific users, I've already reported them. It's as easy as searching for the keywords yourself.
Shotacon is very much used for child porn. Calling something shota, and drawing what appears to be a ten year old in a sexual light, is child porn. I don't subscribe to the "10,000 year old elf argument". If it looks like a duck, and quacks like a duck, it's probably a duck, not a giraffe. And according to the rules, if it looks underage, it's against the AUP.

Jeez...
That...makes me pretty uncomfortable. I really dislike sites that allow child porn. Like InkBunny for one thing. But at least they allow you to block tags and you can actually report people who don't use the tagging system properly.
And FurAffinity...it seems like it got better, any report I've ever submitted has been over CP and they've gotten back to me within a week. I MEAN, not that it makes it any better. No one should be defending pedos and shit, that's just...ugh. Incredibly cringe-worthy and sickening. And I don't care WHAT you call it; cub, shota, it doesn't change the fact that it's child porn.At this point, I feel like there's not a single good art-website out there, DA sucks because it's Admins and mods don't do SHIT, FurAffinity is full of porn and anything that isn't porn gets overlooked easily...this place is rather slow. What is an artist to do? ~0~

I don't like kiddie porn and I don't think I'm out of line for feeling that way. Lucky for me, VCL not only doesn't allow it, but they actually enforce the rule as well. I've used the site since 1998 and I enjoy the lack of social aspect it has. I can still share my adult work with people who wish to see it, without having to deal with content that make me uncomfortable.
I'm not sure why your comments have a taken a turn towards hostile, but I would appreciate it if you simply didn't comment if you can't be civil.

The lack of social aspects is why I'm investing time for web design and development just so I can just host my artwork privately. If people did want to talk or give feedback, I've always used and will continue to put Email over IM/VoIP clients.

That's a good reason to leave, and it's definitely something to think about myself. I'll definitely be watching elsewhere (Twitter's great that way), but still: take care!
Also: holy shit VCL is still around.
