I've been living here for about 3 weeks now and I'm pretty sure I'm nice and settled in so back to the grind!
And!
I can tell you where I'm living now!!
Japan! :3
Hope you enjoy Japan. :D It was interesting visiting it for 2 weeks but tourist experience isn't living experience.
I am! I keep getting asked what I want to do while in japan but every time i can't really think of specific things uxu Any ideas?
Hmm. Well, we mainly visited every temple recommended in Kyoto and Tokyo in the little book my mom bought, so it's all a blur. @_@ (It was also incredibly embarrassing because she did that whole "Aw look at their silly beliefs how cute look at the statues how cute" thing.) BUT:
I would certainly recommend the deer temple at Nara. The Imperial Palace East Gardens in Tokyo were nice as well! Something we did that I really enjoyed was in the early evening (4-5pm), we'd just wander some of the smaller commercial streets and pick a random restaurant for dinner.
I've visited a few temples and one at night :X i was warned about the monkeys in the area being aggressive near that temple though. I want to go to Nara pretty bad I really love deer but maybe when it cools off because it's so hot and humid right now. I still need to figure out a good time to go visit Tokyo. :x I have been to some really cool sushi places so far that the locals brought me to and it is all literally the most delicious shit i've ever had but wow when you're not used to eating fish all the time... well you shit a lot.
My sister-in-law lived in Japan for about 3 years and she LOVED it. The only reason why she moved back was because her husband (at the time) didn't speak the language very well (and refused to practice or learn more to step up his game) so he bitched about it until they moved back to the US. It's a shame because she had a really kickass job working at Atlus and had to give it up.
Most people are willing to speak english to you even if you speak fluently to them if they see that you're american :x (or white/look american) People are so nice here though? Like super polite??? and they have free or cheap japanese lessons in most major cities. It's pretty weird that someone would be that miserable here when it's so easy to access things and education even if you don't speak the language.
