Wolves with feathers maybe?

Something that's not generic but interesting all the same. Most of the most successfully adopts I've seen include original species. I've seen people make humanoid plants, alien-like living plants, and various others. Think of a few things that interest you and try to blend that together nicely.

Another thing I've noticed is that free adopts usually clear out faster than money adopts. (Though that could factor in a lot because some won't be able to buy)

I know how you feel :/ ive made adopts before, some that I am really proud of, actually, and nobody wanted them, so we're both on the same foot. all I can say is, don't let it get you down, you are an outstanding artist, and deserve more than this, but hey, even if no one adopted them, art is art, and I could have NEVER drawn them like you do ;)
