Health Update July 2014 by FastWinger

Today I went to the doctor to review the results from my last blood test and thyroid ultrasound.

The blood work shows that the medication is working, but my thyroid hormones aren’t yet in the normal range. I’m still taking the same dose of medication and in 8 weeks I have to go for another blood test.

The ultrasound didn’t show any abnormalities in my thyroid, but it looks like I have thyroiditis, which is inflammation of the thyroid gland. My thyroid is making antibodies and attacking itself, this is causing inflammation and also my Hypothyroidism.

My doctor wants to see if this can be stabilized with the medication, and I’m fairly certain it can, but I will probably have to take it for the rest of my life

I'm really really relieved to hear it looks like your medication is working. Thank you for the update, I'm so glad it looks like things will work out, even if it means permanent medication.

    How are you feeling?

I'm feeling a lot better. Less stressed and worried now that the test results are in.
It is a relief to know that things are working out, and if I have to take medication for the rest of my life, I'm okay with that.
