I've been pretty inactive recently on art sites and tumblr. Even twitter sometimes goes rather quiet. It's been a mix of being tired, lack of motivation, business, and some bleh. I'm ok, just was bleh. Trying to be more active, finish up things that I started, etc. Been sorta having an art block recently. I realized yesterday, and I know this sounds really nerdy, but I was sorta feeling like how Kiki did in Kiki's delivery service. I have this skill that I am pretty good at and love, but suddenly it goes away and I am unable to use it, no matter how much I want to. And I just sorta gotta find a way to bring it back out, to be motivated to do so. I think I know of some ways, and I think I am coming out of it, so that's good. It just sorta hit me that way, and that was the best way to describe it @w@
Artist tend to get like that. In my college classes (Digital Art and Design Degree Major) we went over that you can get long periods of time where you don't want to work.
Being an artist and being lazy are common and normal because it's a stressful job. It's a love/hate relationship with your passion in art. All you really need is a spark to get back on the trail or a nice long break. I took like a 6 month break from really doing any art to kind of recover and get my head back on, and I'm more or less back to normal. But it depends on you and your situation.
I dont know if this is still an issue, but why not walk around? take a good look at the world and see new things. maybe you'll find inspiration in nature, or old things you thought you knew, but only knew from a certain angle?
