The anthrology #2 Rant by Donro

I CALLED IT I said the only people who'll get on it will be 2k watchers minimum.

I check every so often to see who got picked etc, and it sickens me.. its either a terrible artist who has no idea how to draw but has followers or a hyper popular artist.. I called it so hard.

Saw an artist who is abysmal on it, I know they have 2.5k followers and they got on solely for that, I mean my art is 40 times better, the people I know who also applied draw circles around them but me and them dont have the magic 2k, its laughable.

Then there are other artists on it I know who range from good to WOW, again they're popular they got on some more deserving than others some not. This project should and I want it to fail... It's a complete lie when they stated it was to show a vast segment of the fandom yet only show the popular artists who regardless of talent are known.

Fuck that noise, I wish some of these "geniuses" would fund something that actually promotes our fandom and stops giving the same 4 people airtime.. I could gather a list of 20 artists more deserving than 90% of the people they chose.

    I have to say, I don't think i've heard of most of these artists, But i'm not really deep into the furry community! I just like the porn. :P

      basically the people getting chosen are predictable popular artists, like above 10k watchers types

        I guess I can understand the reasoning behind that, Like, it's more likely to sell well if they do that? But it is sort of dissapointing if they said that they weren't gonna do it based on popularity.

    And so the merger continues, slowly porting over the popularity driven bile of Deviant Art to FA. Soon all asshat children will have left DA for FA, then FA will implode(more than usual, I mean) and most likely the fallout will start radiating out to all the satellite sites of the fandom... Out of curiosity, what is the official range of subject matter in this anthrology thing? If they say they're trying to represent a wide range then surely they must have an official list of assembly types(ex; Anthro, feral, kemono, etc.) and subjects to cover.

      Basically they claim its a wide span of the furry community, yet its the same cliche "clubstripes/hardblush" artists drawing.
