The Creative Dilemma by struguri

So if you follow my commission account over on FA, you may be curious why my gallery has been naked so long. There is a reason for this.

I'm struggling with how to treat this account. I'd like to perhaps give myself an alternative account here on Weasyl to actually do commission-related things with-- but I also like the way you can organize and categorize things here. The whole reason I created a commission account on FA was to get that organization going. In addition, I like the idea of separating work-by-me from work-for-me. So Weasyl appeals to me in that regard without having to do that with the collections system.

But here's the situation I'm in now: FA's inability to create a system similar to Weasyl's actually wound up spawning a creative streak in me that I really like now. With every picture I basically decided to create a story to go along with it, creating some sort of hybrid between the creator and myself. With collections here on Weasyl, I can't exactly do that. I suppose I could create a journal to go along with the picture itself, but honestly, that doesn't have nearly the presentation effect as having the picture be followed by the story rather than the other way around. In addition, I can't exactly embed the contents of a submission within a story submission.

So for now, while I ponder exactly how to do this, my gallery remains empty, as I don't know how to approach the organization issue. We'll see what happens. I'll probably just create another account when the site goes out of beta.

You can insert images with a story submission, I have no idea what the limitations are, but since it's like an image tag I imagine that it'll pretty much be the original size of the image and since you can just get the URL from a submission here it would still save on server space like the collections do.

Oh can you? That's quite useful! Maybe I'll do that instead. :)
