TMI Tuesday? XD [ask me stuff] by FuzziMutt

I've never tried one because I didn't think anyone would bite? X3
Okay, okay... NEAR-TMI Tuesday. There are honestly some things I might not answer, but I'll be a good sport, lol. Let's call it ASK Tuesday instead.

[Doing this on various sites, btw. Just thought I'd include Weasyl too.]

Sure, I'll bite. Hrrrmmm... What made you start drawing? What inspired you? Or who?

Omg, haha... I completely forgot to check back since I figured it might go unnoticed. X3 Sorry about that!

Hmm... let's see if I can answer without writing a novel, heh.
I guess I've been drawing since I could hold a crayon, really. I spent early childhood getting my scribbles hung on the fridge. What made me KEEP drawing was just... having an overactive imagination, I guess. Have idea; draw it down. I was the kid who had literal dozens of "imaginary friends," but later in life I realized that was just my love of creating characters and stories and worlds. XD I guess I had the standard "inspired by Disney/Don Bluth/other childhood films" as well, tho. I remember making one-off fan characters from the movies and cartoons I watched, haha.

I went through early school telling everyone I wanted to be an artist when I grew up, which then evolved into "cartoonist" and then "animator" in middle school or so. (Side note, I did achieve this and it's awesome. X3) But there was a time I wasn't so sure about art as a career or art in general when I hit high school.
I moved a lot and definitely had #newkidproblems... I'd always been picked on for being the weird artsy kid, but high school was when I finally equipped the tools to deal with it, lol. In my newfound confidence-armor, I met one of my best friends for life because she was super weird like me but gave no f*cks about it. XD I admired that. She drew things as well, and had her own characters and headworld and everything just like I did. Meeting her refueled my interest in art because I wasn't afraid of being ridiculed for it or my resulting quirkiness anymore. (I even included her in my ~Inspiration Map~ I did a while back, heh.)

In persuing MOAR artstuff I came across deviantART like most, and it was just a whole new world of inspiration. I had my favorite and admired artists, of course... I think some of the earliest furry artists that caught my eye were Kamicheetah, EskiWorks, and [now defunct] Jennadelle. But just learning from and aspiring to all these amazing artists online got me wanting to improve and such. I was fortunate enough to go to college for exactly what I wanted in animation. And even tho I've only dabbled in the industry, between that and freelancing I've pretty much gotten to make a career out of arting, for better or worse, lol.

      Oops... I think I novel'd. XD
But actually, thank you, that was a fun question to answer!

Cool. I'm glad you liked answering it :D. You working for a company now? If so, who? You say you have dabbled in the industry, who have you worked for in the past? I have to admit that I admire your passion. I know animation isn't for everyone, like me for instance.

          Aw, thanks, haha.

I worked for a small broadcast design studio a couple years back on a big project for PBS. They remade the Electric Company show and had a short multimedia, interactive thingy that required an online game and some animated shorts. They were shown on TV, but only to those with more than basic cable. XD I threw it in a demo reel, tho. If you get the Boomerang channel, this studio did all the retro toy bumpers; along with the Cartoon Cartoon Fridays song and graphics back in the day. o:

Coming up soon I'll be in a larger studio working on a show for Hulu! I feel a bit rusty, haha, but I am excited.

You say animation's not for you... out of curiosity, what do you do? :3

I went to the Art Institute cause I thought I wanted to animate and draw. It turns out I don't like to draw THAT much. I graduated and focused on 3d modeling and haven't done anything with it. Hell I haven't touched a 3d program in years. In a way it's my own fault, but I wont go into all that. I'm going to get to the actual question now that I went off in another direction. Right now I work at Macys as a dock worker and UPS store as customer service. They're decent jobs and I rather like them. That's cool that you are working on a show for Hulu.
